Arlena S. Obey, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based psychiatric care across the lifespan. A Nashville, Tennessee native, Arlena brings a strong foundation in psychology, nursing, and psychiatry to her work with children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fisk University, her Master of Science in Nursing from Saint Louis University School of Nursing, and her Post-Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from South College.
Arlena is passionate about helping clients feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. Her clinical approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic, with attention to the emotional, physical, social, and environmental factors that influence wellness. She provides thoughtful medication management, supportive therapeutic interventions, and individualized treatment planning tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
While Arlena has a special interest in child and adolescent mental health, she is equally committed to supporting adults through the many challenges that can arise across different stages of life. She works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood concerns, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, life transitions, stress, relationship challenges, and emotional burnout. Arlena values creating a safe and respectful space where adult clients can speak openly, gain insight, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Arlena believes that effective psychiatric care begins with trust, active listening, and partnership. Her goal is to help each client build greater stability, confidence, and overall well-being. Outside of her clinical work, Arlena enjoys hiking, traveling, and creative projects.
