Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Melyn is double board certified as a Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has earned a B.S. in Exercise Science at Lipscomb University, a Master of Science degree in Nursing at Vanderbilt University and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Exercise, Nutrition and Preventive Health at Baylor University. She received additional training in a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in preventive cardiology and completed her post master’s psychiatric mental health training at Maryville University.
Melyn is passionate about partnering with her clients in managing a broad number of conditions, especially those experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders and ADHD. Melyn strives to provide a compassionate, client centered approach in providing care and support in the areas of medication management, assessment and treatment. Her approach integrates holistic solutions, drawing upon her training in nutrition and exercise and incorporating complementary, non-pharmacologic interventions.
In her free time, Melyn enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, hiking, fitness training, golfing and travel. She and her husband live in Franklin where they are actively involved in local charity initiatives and manage their own non-profit organization.
